I Know You

This poem was written when I was feeling lost and out of control. My life had taken a sharp, unexpected turn and I was very depressed for quite a while. I had never relied so heavily on those parts of me that I give voice to on the mucks and elsewhere on the internet before and I'll never underestimate their power again.

"I Know You"

I know you
You of the scales
You of the wings
You, the living stone

I know you
You of the ebon skin
You of the snowy tresses
You, the wandering soul

I know you
You of the striped fur
You of the warrior's mien
You, the temple's mother

I know you
You of the shadowed spots
You of the soft spoken wisdom
You, the woman child

I know you
You of the other worldly beauty
You of the realm beyond my own
You, the One Who Watches

I know you
You, who speak to me
You, who speak through me
You, who are me when I am not myself

I know you
You, Dragoness, giving me wings
You, Assassin, guarding my back
You, Tigress, showing me my future self
You, Pantheress, leading me to play
You, Goddess, watching over me as I sleep

I know you
You are me
I am you
